How you can Put on a Purple Dress Having a Red Hat

In the poem Warning by Jenny Joseph, the very first two lines are -
"When I'm an old lady I shall put on purple, Having a red hat which does not go and does not suit me."

I adore the rebellious theme with the poem and because it was written, Red Hat, Purple Dress clubs have sprung up all over the place. In the meetings, the ladies attending dress in purple and red and just have plenty of enjoyable collectively.

I disagree that purple and red "don't go", actually I adore these two powerful colours in mixture. This Spring/Summer is displaying a trend for vibrant colours collectively and what a great mixture red and purple make. Maybe some ladies within the "Red Hat, Purple Dress" society deliberately select to put on colours that do not suit them, but numerous ladies really wish to appear their very best the majority of the time, even when they're attempting to create a statement or not conform to style. The important thing to wearing these two colour collectively is obtaining the proper hues & tones that suit your natural colour.

There may be or have been an assumption that ladies over 50 are mostly grey haired. This may have been true a generation ago but now that hair dye is so available and effective, numerous ladies are choosing not to go grey.....just yet! But those that decide to go grey when nature decides are very best suited in "cool" purple and red. This means the purple and red needs to have a "blue" undertone, so imagine taking purple or red and adding a splash of blue.

Red or auburn hair is often keeps its colour long after any other hair colour. Ladies with this colouring should select purple and red with "warm" or "golden" undertones. The red will be more "orange" in hue and flatter the auburn tones with the hair.

Women with dark hair should select dark red and deep purple, where as ladies with fair or blond hair will be better suited in pale purple and light red.

In essence there is a red and a purple for every lady, what ever her age so if you have a desire to join the Red Hat, Purple Dress Society, you can join within the enjoyable but know that you are wearing the shades of red and purple that really suit you.
